February is a transitional month for high school seniors navigating the college application process. Most application deadlines have passed, but there are still important dates and tasks to be mindful of as you move closer to making your college decision. Here's what to keep on your radar in February:

  1. Finalize Financial Aid Documents: Ensure your FAFSA and CSS Profile (if applicable) are complete and submitted. Though the FAFSA deadline is June 30, earlier submission can qualify you for more aid. Check if there are any additional financial aid documents required by the colleges you've applied to.
  2. Scholarship Applications: Continue applying for scholarships. Many scholarships have deadlines in February and March, so keep searching for opportunities and submitting applications.
  3. Regular Decision Notifications: Some colleges may start sending out regular decision notifications late in the month, but many will come in March and April. Keep an eye on your email and the colleges' portals.
  4. Mid-Year Grades: If you haven't already, ensure your high school sends your mid-year grades to the colleges you've applied to. This is especially important if you were deferred in the early decision or early action rounds.
