AECT Legacy Graduate Scholarship
The AECT Legacy Graduate Scholarship is offered by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology to support graduate students and practicing K-12 school teachers or school library/media specialists pursuing a Master's degree or professional certificate in the field of education or library sciences. The scholarship aims to improve the teaching/learning process in the library and classroom and promote the use of educational communications and technology in education and library sciences.
Level of Study: Graduate Degree, Professional Development (for practicing K-12 school teachers or school library/media specialists pursuing a Master's degree or professional certificate in the field)
Award Type: Scholarship
Purpose: The purpose of the scholarship is to enhance the teaching/learning process in the library and classroom and to encourage the use of educational communications and technology in education and library sciences.
Focus: Education (bilingual and cross-cultural, elementary, and special education), Library and archival sciences.
Qualifications: To be eligible for the AECT Legacy Graduate Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be practicing K-12 school teachers or school library/media specialists.
- Be pursuing a Master's degree or professional certificate in the field of education or library sciences.
- Be enrolled or planning to attend an accredited college.
Criteria: The selection process for the scholarship is based on various factors, including:
- Scholarship and academic achievements.
- Experience in the field of educational media.
- Information literacy and research skills.
- Involvement in innovative programs.
- Service and leadership in the profession.
- The applicant's statement and letters of recommendation are also considered.
Funds: The scholarship provides $500 annually.
Duration: Annual scholarship
Number of Awards: 1 scholarship is awarded each year.
Deadline: The application deadline for the AECT Legacy Graduate Scholarship is August 15. Applicants are encouraged to submit all required materials before the deadline to be considered for this scholarship that emphasizes the use of educational communications and technology in the teaching/learning process.
How to Apply: Interested applicants must complete and submit the application form and provide three letters of recommendation. The application and references may be emailed by the deadline, but letters of recommendation must be received from the writers no later than a week after the deadline.
