Purpose
To encourage new weed science research and future weed science careers.
Focus -
Agricultural sciences; Botany.
Qualifications -
Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a degree program (B.S., M.S., or PhD) at an accredited college or university in the western region and actively conducting research related to weed science; applicants must be current WSWS members at who will attend and present at the WSWS annual meeting.
Criteria
Selection is based on research's contribution to the discipline of weed science and WSWS objectives, academic record and scholarly achievements, potential contributions to the future of weed science, and participation in extracurricular activities that contribute to the advancement of weed science, natural resource management, and/or education and mentoring. Undergraduate and graduate applications will be evaluated separately; students may receive award once as an undergraduate and once as a graduate student.

Applicant must submit application form, cover letter, CV summary, academic transcripts, draft abstract, and two letters of support. Applicant must submit all application materials electronically in one file (PDF or zip folder) via email.
