Purpose
To support and encourage established scholars, or writers who have attained distinction in their fields.
Focus -
Art; Humanities; Social sciences.
Qualifications -
Applicants must be scholars, artists, or writers who have attained distinction in their fields; are also accepted from researchers of all nationalities who are working in the arts, humanities or social sciences.
Criteria
Selection is based on a competitive basis; they are reviewed by committee and evaluated by the conservation institute based on: past achievements; their qualifications to undertake the project; how the project would benefit from the resources at the Getty, including its library and collections; how the project would contribute to the advancement of practice in the conservation field.

Annual; from 3 to 9 consecutive months.

Applicants are required to complete and submit the online Getty residential scholar application form which includes completing an online information sheet and uploading a project proposal, curriculum vitae, and optional writing sample.
