Purpose
To support AP-LS members who are early career professionals in conducting research related to psychology and law.
Focus -
Law; Psychology.
Qualifications -
Applicants must be Early Career professionals, defined by APA as those within seven years of receiving their last degree; must submit only one award proposal per funding cycle.
Criteria
Preference will be given to those applicants who have not ever received an AP-LS ECP Grant-In-Aid.

Applicants must submit a cover sheet including all contact information for the primary investigator, title of the proposal, status of the human subject review for the project; an abstract of 150-word or less describing the proposed research; a proposed budget with justifications; a curriculum vitae; a list of at least five suggested outside reviewers for the project with expertise in the area of the proposal; External reviewer suggestions must exclude those with a potential conflict of interest; a five-page maximum project description including statement of the problem and relation of the problem to the state of the field; concise overview of the relevant empirical literature, theoretical background and/or law related to the project; project method; detailed description of the methodology and analytical strategy to be employed, including an outline for expected completion of the project; anticipated contribution; statement of the significance of the project within the field of psychology and law. Project timeline, Proposed budget with budget justifications. If the applicant has secured additional funding for the proposed research from another funding source, Curriculum vitae, A list of at least five suggested reviewers for the project with expertise in the content area of the proposal.
