Purpose
To provide an opportunity for college graduates to gain practical knowledge and experience by contributing to the efforts of nonprofit, public-interest organizations working on peace and security issues.
Focus -
Peace studies.
Qualifications -
Applicants must required to have completed a baccalaureate degree by the time the fellowship commences. Preference is given to United States citizens; Non-U.S. citizens living outside the United States are not eligible to apply.
Criteria
Selection shall be based on academic accomplishments and interest in issues of peace and security.

Application materials must include a cover sheet (applicant's name, semester for which they are applying, contact details); a signed letter indicating the applicants' desire to apply, addresses and telephone numbers of two references (letter should indicate how the applicants first learned of the Scoville Peace Fellowship); a full CV (educational and professional data, and extracurricular activities); a personal essay discussing the applicants' qualifications, interests, Fellowship objectives and career goals (should also list 5-6 organizations they would like to work with); a policy or opinion essay of no more than 1, 000 words relevant to the field of peace and security taking a position on a contemporary, contentious issue (must be titled); official transcript(s) detailing the candidates' entire college academic record including undergraduate, graduate and foreign study; and two signed letters of reference; electronic applications must be submitted as one compiled Adobe PDF file or Microsoft Word, subject must be scoville Application-name of the applicant; paper applications must be submitted in a single envelope (each page must be numbered, do not staple pages together).
