Purpose
To provide support to emerging and mid-career advocates to design and implement advocacy projects focused on biomedical HIV prevention research and implementation activities in their countries and communities.
Focus -

Qualifications -
Applicants must be emerging or mid-career community leaders and advocates involved or interested in advocacy around HIV prevention research and implementation; must be individuals with some experience or education in the areas of HIV and AIDS, public health, medicine, international development, women's rights, communications or advocacy with key populations, such as sex workers, LGBT people and drug users; must be based in low and middle-income countries where biomedical HIV prevention clinical research is planned or ongoing and/or where there is current work on implementation of voluntary medical male circumcision, pre-exposure prophylaxis, treatment as prevention and combination prevention packages that link biomedical strategies. Advocates can also develop proposals that seek to catalyze plans and policies in the country where little activity on these issues has happened to date; must be able to collaborate with English-speaking mentors; must demonstrate strategic analysis of how Fellowship-related activities will relate to this work.
