Purpose
To support research from top academics in a variety of fields that contribute to a wider understanding of how to manage conflict and build sustainable peace effectively.
Focus -
Peace studies.
Qualifications -
Applicant must be USIP seeks applications from doctoral candidates with high-quality, policy relevant research that will deepen our understanding of conflict management, peace building and other relevant security studies, priority will be given to applications closely related to the mission of USIP and/ or research priorities of the Minerva research Initiative, applications will be selected based on the strength of the proposed research and its potential to make original contributions to the field by addressing one of the key initiatives or research priorities listed in the links above, all applicants must be doctoral candidates at the time of application, master’s students or other students pursuing graduate coursework are not eligible to apply, non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply, however they must be PhD candidates currently enrolled at a U.S. university, students at international and satellite universities are not eligible,.

To Apply
Applications must be submitted through the FLUXX system; two letters of recommendation must be attached; one letter must be from your dissertation advisor and the other from a current professor, participate in the annual peace scholar workshop each fall; submit quarterly dissertation progress reports to be signed by the dissertation advisor; submit updates for the USIP peace scholar newsletter; participate in virtual roundtable discussions; submit a copy of the completed dissertation to USIP; submit copies of any other publications, including articles and books, resulting from the fellowship.
