Applicants must be graduate students writing doctoral dissertations for a Ph.D. in American history.

Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Applicants should submit project proposal of no more than 1, 000 words describing the research project and detailing how the funds will be used; updated curriculum vitae with a list of the names and addresses of references; two signed letters of recommendation on official letterhead submitted independently by referees.
