National Association of Gifted Children (NAGC) Scholarships
The National Association of Gifted Children (NAGC) offers multiple awards and scholarships to outstanding leaders, scholars, advocates, and dedicated contributors. Click on the award titles below for a description. Award nominations are closed for 2021, but 2022 nomination will open in the fall.
Below is a list of Scholarships offered by NAGC:
- **A. Harry Passow Classroom Teacher Scholarship -** Teachers of grades K-12 who have shown excellence in teaching gifted students and commit to furthering the development of their teaching skills**.**
- Administrator Award - Honors school administrators outside the field of gifted education who have advanced gifted education in their school district**.**
- Ann F. Isaacs Founder's Memorial Award - Presented by the NAGC President for NAGC service with distinction.
- Book of the Year - Book of the Year was created to recognize excellence in books published in the gifted and talented education.
- Carolyn Callahan Doctoral Student Awards - Up to five awards are given to individuals who exhibit the highest and most consistent degree of scholarship in the gifted education field**.**
- Community Service Award - For an individual who has made the most significant contribution to the development of gifts and talents in young people.
- **David W. Belin Advocacy Award -** Presented to an individual inside or outside the field who has been a consistent advocate for gifted students and a voice for supporting gifted services in the school setting.
- Distinguished Scholar Award - Available to an individual who has made a significant and continued contribution to the field of education regarding gifted and talented individuals.
- **Distinguished Service Award -** Presented to an individual who has made the most significant contribution to the field of gifted education through a long and fruitful association with NAGC.
- **Early Leader Award -** Given to an individual who has exhibited the highest and most consistent degree of leadership in the gifted education field since receiving their doctorate.
- **Early Scholar Award -** Awarded to an individual who has made significant contributions in conducting and reporting research regarding the education of gifted and talented individuals.
- **GCQ Paper of the Year -** The GCQ Paper that best exemplifies high standards of scholarship in research, theory, and/or practice in gifted education is selected by the GCQ Editor and members of the Publications Committee.
- **Gifted Coordinator Award -** For current or serving within the past year district gifted coordinator/administrator who has had a significant and positive impact on the gifted students in their district.
- **Hollingworth Award -** This international award was created to encourage educational and psychological research studies of potential benefit to gifted and talented children.
- **Master's and Specialist Award -** The Masters and Specialist Award is for those who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and in increasing knowledge about and creating positive classroom and community environments for
