Purpose
To stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise.
Focus -
Biology, Molecular; Chemistry; Computer and information sciences; Economics; Mathematics and mathematical sciences; Neuroscience; Physics.
Qualifications -
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in chemistry, computer science, Earth system science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, or a related field; must be a member of the regular faculty (tenure track) of a college/university in the United States or Canada; be no more than six years from completion of the most recent PhD or equivalent and must be nominated by department heads or other senior researchers for the fellowship.
Criteria
Selection will be based on their independent research accomplishments, creativity, and potential to become leaders in the scientific community through their contributions to their field.

To Apply
Must submit a letter from a department head or other senior researcher officially nominating the candidate, describing their qualifications, initiative, and research; a brief one-page statement by the candidate describing significant scientific work and immediate research plans; curriculum vitae (including a list of the candidates scientific publications); two representative articles by the candidate; three letters from other researchers (preferably not all from the same institution) written in support of the candidate's nomination.
