Purpose
To recognize, assist and train students working on projects that address environmental health or emergency preparedness from the perspective of health education or the behavioral sciences.
Focus -
Behavioral sciences; Health education.
Qualifications -
Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student in a master's or doctoral degree program in environmental health, health education, health promotion, behavioral sciences or a related field. Proposed projects should be either research or practice-based and focus on environmental health education/health promotion or environmental justice from the perspective of health education or the behavioral sciences. Proposed projects may be new or on-going, and the applicants must have the primary role in conducting the project. Projects may be related to surveillance, risk factor identification, or intervention development, evaluation, or dissemination. Projects related to the development or use of theory in environmental health also are acceptable.
Criteria
Proposals will be reviewed by a SOPHE/ATSDR Environmental Health Promotion Fellowship Selection Committee for their scientific and/or theoretical basis, originality and potential contribution to health education's role in environmental health promotion.

Applicants must submit a completed application form, a resume or curriculum vitae, a project proposal, a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or professional, and a letter of support from a designated faculty member who plans to work with the applicants on the proposed project.
