The Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) goal is to assist Oregon students in pursuing their college and career goals. Below are some financial aid resources to help Oregon Students.

State Grants

• Oregon Opportunity Grants are Oregon's largest state-funded, need-based grant program for college students.
• Chafee Education and Training Grant to help current or former foster care youth with post-secondary education and training.
• Deceased or Disabled Public Safety Officer Grant Program
• Oregon Student, Child Care Grant assists parents enrolled in post-secondary education to obtain safe, dependable care, allowing for completing the parent's academic program.
• Oregon Promise helps cover tuition costs for recent high school graduates and GED® test graduates at an Oregon college.
• Oregon Barber and Hairdresser (B&H) Grant Program
• Oregon National Guard State Tuition Assistance provides financial aid to eligible Oregon National Guard members.

State Scholarship Opportunities

• Office of Student Access and Completion Scholarships (OSAC) contains a catalog of eligible scholarships for Oregon Students.

Here is more information on timelines of interest from the OSAC:

October: File your FAFSA or ORSAA as soon as possible after October 1. Doing so will ensure you are considered for all scholarships that consider financial need.

November - February: Start your OSAC scholarship application and submit starting in November through March 1.

• First-time applicants: create an OSAC account and start the OSAC Scholarship Application.
• Returning applicants: refresh and update your application from last year.
• High school juniors may start a "test application" but cannot submit it until their year of graduation.

February 15*: Early Bird deadline. Complete applications (including transcripts) submitted by this date will be entered into a drawing for one of several $1,000 Early Bird scholarship awards.

March 1*: Final deadline for all materials to be submitted to OSAC.

April - August: Track your application status and scholarship awards in the OSAC Student Portal.

Institutional Scholarships

Colleges provide institutional grants and scholarships to help make up the difference between college costs and what a family can be expected to contribute through income, savings, loans, and student earnings. Awards may be based on academic merit, artistic or athletic talent, financial need, or other factors. You can learn more about the types of institutional grants and scholarships awarded by checking each college's financial aid website.

Private Scholarships

Private scholarships provide funding for students who meet the requirements specified by the donor organization. Local organizations or businesses may offer scholarships to students who plan to study at a regional college or plan to pursue a degree in a particular field of study.

Check with your High School Guidance Counselor office for details about local and regional scholarships.
